This training manual, on use of engineering fabrics in transportation related applications, was prepared for the Office of Development, Federal Highway Administration (FHWA), U. S. Department of Transportation, by Haliburton Associates, Stillwater, Oklahoma, under Contract No. DTFH61-80-C-00094. Contract goals included development of a comprehensive training manual for use by transportation engineers in analysis, design, and construction of transportation facilities employing engineering fabric infiltration, drainage, erosion control, material separation, and soil reinforcement. Starting with general properties of engineering fabrics, the manual covers state-of-the-art analysis, design, fabric selection, and facility construction procedures for these engineering fabric applications.
