This report deals with methods to repair frost-damaged roadways. Specifically, it contains discussions concerning the mechanics of ground freezing and frost related roadway damage, the environments in which such damage occurs, and measures to evaluate the contributing factors along with recommendations to mitigate them and/or reduce the potential for additional roadway damage. At the end of the report, a worksheet is provided to allow prospective users of this manual to record the results of their work and help them both evaluate prospective repair methods and track their successes.
