Description
The Cone Penetration Test is becoming an increasingly popular exploration tool among geotechnical engineers. CPT is used to estimate the material properties, such as stiffness and strength, of subgrade soil. Engineers have traditionally used the Standard Penetration Test for estimating these properties, but CPT is faster, less labor-intensive and more accurate than traditional methods. CPT also produces a continuous digital data record, enabling analysis in real time.
